History

As the American population increases, the numbers of senior citizens, (baby boomers and later generations), move into their senior years and caring for their health needs will become vital. In order to meet the rising demand for trained nursing aides in the health care industry, Providence Vocational Inc. (PVI) was formed in July 2013 but became functional in 2015. It is approved by Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) and by Texas Health and Human Services (Former DADS) as a Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program meeting the minimum requirements for nurse aide training in accordance with 40 Texas Administrative Code. After 5 years of successfully graduating students, EKG Tech and Phlebotomy Tech Training programs were approved by TWC and added in 2018, to produce robust graduates who can be multi-tasked. PVI has developed this Nurse Aid program to produce successful candidates who will help to bridge the gap of future shortages of certified nurse aides as health workers in supporting health system.
